Player Ratings | Weymouth v St Ives Town

Ben Carter |

Saturday the 17th of December saw the Terras held back to a frustrating 1-1 draw at home to St Ives Town.  Each player was assessed by a select few members of supporters out of 10, it is in our greatest aims to provide player ratings for every game.  The ratings are as follows:

McHale: 6

A promising debut for our new goalkeeper, who organised the defence in front of him well and calmly played out from the back.  However, it wasn’t the most busy of afternoons for the gloves man who, when relied upon, asserted his authority in the air from a few dangerous crosses.

Brooks: 6

After recently playing at RB, Brooks made his return to his more natural CB position, his most notable moment being a powerful right footed shot, turned just behind by the visitors goalkeeper.

Zubar: 7

As per usual, our number 5 proved that he was one of our top players, who produced many strong challenges and broke down many attacks.   As well as being our joint MOTM, Zubar was also voted as today’s man of the match by sponsors Redlands Bandits under 10’s. No doubt, a huge miss for the boxing day derby.

Davis: 4

Being played at Right Back, out of position from his normal central midfield spot, did not serve Davis any justice today, an afternoon in which he struggled.

Cooper: 4

After such a dominant display last weekend against Whitehawk, Cooper struggled in this afternoons clash, especially when getting forward in order to try and deliver any dangerous crosses.

Lowes: 4

Much like his central midfield partner, Lowes failed to make a mark in the match, with many passes not meeting their intended targets.

Evans: 4

Unusually, a quiet game for our centre midfielder who found it challenging to create any real chances. He found himself on the end of a lovely cross after leaping above his man, however,  failed to trouble the opposition shot stopper on his best chance of the game.

Fleetwood: 5

Despite scoring the only goal for the Terras this afternoon, it was a very disappointing one from the winger, who had arguably the best chance of the first half go blazing past the post.

Copp: 7

After returning back from a short spell on the side lines, Copp produced many opportunities for his team mates.  His pace and tricky skill being main factors as he continued to cause the saints defence problems throughout the duration of the game.  Our joint MOTM, and well deserved for his efforts this afternoon.

Thomson: 5

Many opportunities for Thomson to give Weymouth a much needed goal. However none of which fully tested the St Ives goalkeeper; which added to the frustration of a game Terras will soon want to forget.

Yetton: 4

After returning to the starting line-up for his first start since injury, our captain struggled to cause any real threat today.  Which was noticed by the management team as he was replaced by Rodriguez during the second half.

Subs

Rodriguez: 6

After coming on as a substitute, Rodriguez made the most of his time on the pitch causing trouble to the St Ives back line.  Sadly, however he has nothing to show for his efforts.  One of the better players in today’s frustrating encounter.

Jevon: N/A

Not on long enough to make an impact.

Jordan: N/A

Not on long enough to make an impact.
